Suntory is the Japanese drinks company founded in 1899 by Shinjiro Torii, who opened Yamazaki, Japan's first malt whisky distillery, in 1923. Today Suntory makes its Japanese whisky at three distilleries: Yamazaki near Kyoto, Hakushu in the forests of the Southern Japanese Alps, and the Chita grain distillery near Nagoya.

The Suntory range. Hibiki is the flagship blended whisky, combining malt and grain from all three distilleries. Yamazaki is the rich, fruity single malt, from the Distiller's Reserve to the age-stated Yamazaki 18. Hakushu is the fresh, green, lightly smoky single malt, including Hakushu 12 Year. Suntory Toki is a light blended whisky made for highballs. Suntory also makes Roku Gin, distilled with six Japanese botanicals, and Haku Vodka, distilled from rice.
