Description
Description
The Scotch Regions Flight is three bottles that could not be more different, each the benchmark of its region. Pour them side by side and you have the whole map of scotch on one table: sherried Speyside, maritime Skye, and full Islay peat.
What's in the set
- The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask 750ML (86 proof), Speyside: American and European sherry-seasoned oak. Honey, citrus, dried fruit, toffee. No smoke at all.
- Talisker 10 Year 750ML (91.6 proof), Isle of Skye: sea salt, black pepper, a wisp of smoke and a long peppery finish. The bridge between the other two.
- Lagavulin 16 Year 750ML (86 proof), Islay: the definitive peated malt. Iodine, bonfire, dark chocolate and a finish that goes on for minutes.
How to taste it
Macallan first, Talisker second, Lagavulin last, neat, with water on the side. Once you have tasted Lagavulin you cannot go back to the Macallan in the same sitting, which is the point.
Best for
- A serious gift for someone who already loves scotch
- Finding out which region is yours before buying a case of it
- A fireside flight for three people who disagree about peat
