Peated Scotch Duo

The Peated Scotch Duo puts two Islay distilleries side by side so you can taste how differently the same island handles smoke. Ardbeg is the heavyweight; Bowmore is the diplomat. Together they are the best introduction to peated whisky we can put in one box.

What's in the set

• Ardbeg 10 Years Old 750ML (92 proof): among the most heavily peated malts made. Tar, smoked lemon, brine and a sweet malty core underneath it all. Non chill-filtered.
• Bowmore 12 Year 750ML (80 proof): the oldest distillery on Islay. Medium peat, with honey, dark chocolate and sea air. Smoke that accompanies rather than dominates.

How to taste it

Bowmore first, then Ardbeg, neat, with a glass of water alongside. A few drops of water in the Ardbeg opens up the citrus under the smoke.
