Production & Heritage

In 1817, the Prince Regent of England, later King George IV, asked Hennessy for a "very superior old pale" cognac. The blend Hennessy created for him established the V.S.O.P grade, which today requires every eau-de-vie in the blend to be aged at least four years in oak. Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège is built from more than 60 eaux-de-vie, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak, then blended by the house's tasting committee to keep the same profile from bottle to bottle.
