Quick Facts: ABV: 0% (Non-Alcoholic Mixer) | Origin: London, England | Style: Sparkling Pink Grapefruit Soda | Size: 4 x 200ml (6.8 oz) Bottles | Brand: Fever-Tree
Production & Heritage
Fever-Tree was founded in London in 2004 by Charles Rolls and Tim Warrillow on a simple idea: if three quarters of your drink is the mixer, the mixer should be as good as the spirit. Fever-Tree uses pink grapefruit juice blended with spring water and cane sugar, with no artificial sweeteners or colors. The natural bitterness of the fruit does the work a tonic's quinine would, giving the soda structure without heaviness.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Fresh pink grapefruit zest with a floral, slightly bitter edge.
Taste: Tart and juicy with a pleasant pithy bitterness and moderate sweetness; it tastes like fruit rather than candy.
Finish: Dry, zesty and refreshing with lingering grapefruit oil.
How to Drink Fever-Tree Sparkling Pink Grapefruit
Fever-Tree recommends a ratio of roughly one part spirit to three parts mixer, poured over plenty of ice in a tall glass. Chill the bottle well before opening and pour gently to preserve the carbonation.
Paloma: 50ml blanco tequila, 150ml Sparkling Pink Grapefruit, a squeeze of lime and a salted rim. Grapefruit Gin Spritz: Gin topped with Sparkling Pink Grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary. Mezcal Paloma: Mezcal in place of tequila adds smoke to the citrus.
