Canada Dry began in Toronto in 1904, when pharmacist John J. McLaughlin created a pale, dry ginger ale that was lighter and less sweet than the dark ginger ales of the day. The brand crossed into the United States in the 1920s and is now produced by Keurig Dr Pepper.
