Quick Facts: ABV: 40% | Produced in: Nikšić, Montenegro | Style: Ultra-Premium Rested Vodka | Producer: Noblewood Group
Production & Heritage
Beluga is produced by Noblewood Group. The grain spirit is distilled at the group's own distillery in Jaunkalsnava, Latvia, then blended with pure artesian water drawn from wells 120 meters deep. The vodka is filtered, rested and bottled at Noblewood's production site in Nikšić, Montenegro, at the foot of Trebjesa Mountain near the river Zeta, and every bottle is finished by hand with Beluga's signature metal sturgeon emblem. Gold Line is made from 100% natural malt spirit and enriched with rice extract and golden root (rhodiola rosea) extract. What truly distinguishes it from the core range is a five-step filtration process using quartz sand and silver filters, followed by a 90-day resting period that gives the spirit exceptional smoothness and integration. Each bottle is individually numbered and sealed with wax.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: The nose opens remarkably clean and fresh, with delicate creamy notes rising first, followed by soft vanilla and a whisper of marshmallow. A faint herbaceous quality emerges beneath, hinting at the botanical enrichments within the spirit.
Taste: On entry, a silky, almost oil-like texture coats the palate with creamy vanilla and gentle almond. The mid-palate introduces white pepper and sage, building gradually alongside a subtle herbaceousness. At its peak, a crisp floral character weaves through the spice without disrupting the spirit's purity.
Finish: Long and crisp, with a distinctive cinnamon flicker, noted specifically by Wine Enthusiast, that trails into lingering warmth. Vanilla is the last flavor to fade, leaving the palate clean and composed.
How to Drink Beluga Gold Line
This vodka is built for sipping neat at a slightly chilled temperature, roughly 8 to 10°C, where its textural richness and subtle botanical complexity come through most clearly. A small splash of still water can open up the more delicate herbal notes.
- Vodka Martini: The silky mouthfeel and gentle almond note create a Martini of unusual elegance without competing with dry vermouth.
- Espresso Martini: The natural creamy vanilla profile integrates seamlessly with coffee liqueur and fresh espresso.
- Vesper: Gold Line's purity and long finish hold their own alongside gin and Lillet Blanc in this spirit-forward cocktail.
