About Peach Schnapps

Few bottles are as tied to a single cocktail era as this one. Peach schnapps became the base of a whole family of easy, juice-forward drinks that are still poured at weddings and backyard parties today.

Like other American-style schnapps, it is made by flavoring neutral spirit with peach and sweetening it, which gives a juicy, ripe-fruit taste with a light body. DeKuyper Peachtree is the familiar choice behind most bars, and it comes in a 750ML and a larger 1L bottle. Mr. Boston Peach Schnapps is another dependable option for mixing.

The simplest serve is the Fuzzy Navel: peach schnapps and orange juice over ice. Add vodka and cranberry juice to peach schnapps and you have a Woo Woo. For a Sex on the Beach, combine vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice and cranberry juice in a tall glass of ice. It also adds a soft fruit note to iced tea, sangria and a Bellini-style spritz with sparkling wine.

Serve it well chilled, and measure your pours, since the sweetness can mask the alcohol. Browse more flavors in our schnapps and cordials collection.

Peach Schnapps FAQ

What is peach schnapps?

Peach schnapps is a sweet liqueur made by flavoring neutral spirit with peach and adding sugar. It carries less alcohol than a straight vodka and is used mainly in mixed drinks. DeKuyper Peachtree and Mr. Boston Peach Schnapps are the classic bottles for a Fuzzy Navel or Sex on the Beach.

How do you make a Fuzzy Navel?

Fill a highball glass with ice, add two ounces of DeKuyper Peachtree, and top with about four ounces of orange juice. Stir gently and garnish with an orange slice. For a lighter version, top with half orange juice and half soda water. Adding an ounce of vodka makes a Hairy Navel.

What mixes well with peach schnapps?

Orange juice, cranberry juice, iced tea, lemonade and sparkling wine are all good partners. Mr. Boston Peach Schnapps works in a peach iced tea, and DeKuyper Peachtree 1L is a practical size for batching sangria. Pair it with vodka, rum or bourbon for a stronger drink.

What is in a Sex on the Beach?

A Sex on the Beach mixes one and a half ounces of vodka, half an ounce to an ounce of peach schnapps, and equal parts orange and cranberry juice over ice. DeKuyper Peachtree is the standard choice. Stir, garnish with an orange slice and a cherry, and serve in a tall glass.
