Hard Truth Distillery

Hard Truth Distilling Co. is a craft distillery in Brown County, Indiana, known for its sweet mash bourbon and rye and for flavored spirits. The Liquor Barn stocks Hard Truth Sweet Mash Bourbon at 90 proof, the Hard Truth x Mellencamp American Odd Bourbon at 100 proof, Toasted Coconut Rum and Cinnamon Vodka, all in 750ml.

Sweet mash means every batch starts with fresh grain and fresh yeast rather than reusing spent mash, which Hard Truth credits for its clean, grain-forward flavor. The American Odd Bourbon is a bottled-in-bond collaboration with John Mellencamp, made from 82% corn and 18% rye grown in Indiana. High Road Rye is a 93 proof straight rye.

Hard Truth also makes flavored spirits. Toasted Coconut Rum, at 21% ABV, uses house-toasted coconut and is great with pineapple juice or cola. Cinnamon Vodka, a 60 proof wheat vodka, is made for shots and hot cider.
