Don Papa

Don Papa is an aged rum from the Philippines, made from sugar cane grown on Negros Island. Don Papa Gold is aged seven years and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), and Don Papa 10 Year is a limited release aged a decade in re-charred American oak. The Liquor Barn lists both in the 750ml bottle.

Don Papa is a soft, sweet-leaning rum with vanilla, candied fruit and baking spice notes from its time in oak. That makes it easy to sip neat or on the rocks, and a good swap for bourbon in an Old Fashioned. Don Papa Gold is the everyday bottle and the place to start. Don Papa 10 Year is drier and deeper, with more oak and dried fruit, and is meant for slow sipping. Both bottles are known for their illustrated labels, which makes them a popular gift.
