Description
Description
Ulysses Cabernet Sauvignon is a premier Napa Valley estate wine sourced from the Ulysses Vineyard in Oakville. Acquired and developed by Christian Moueix in 2008, the vineyard sits on a deep, gravelly clay-loam alluvial fan and is dry-farmed to draw maximum expression from the site. The blend features Cabernet Sauvignon at its core with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged in French-oak barrels and bottled for powerful structure, complexity, and eventual cellar potential.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Rich cassis, dark plum, and black cherry layered with graphite, violets, and a hint of cedar and tobacco leaf.
Taste: Firm yet refined tannins structure a core of blackcurrant, espresso, licorice, and dark chocolate, balanced by bright acidity and minerality drawn from the Oakville soils.
Finish: Long, persistent, and elegant—with dark fruit echoing, framed by polished oak and a refined herbal-mint undertone.
