Augustiner Brau is a Munich brewery founded in 1328, the oldest brewery in Munich and one of the best-known names in Bavarian beer. The Liquor Barn carries three Augustiner beers in 6Pks: Augustiner Helles Lagerbier at 5.2% ABV, Augustiner Edelstoff at 5.6% ABV, and Augustiner Maximator, a 7.5% ABV doppelbock.

Augustiner Helles is the classic Munich pale lager: soft, bready malt, a light touch of hops and a clean finish. It is the one to start with. Edelstoff is an export-style lager, a little stronger and fuller than the Helles, with a bit more malt sweetness. Maximator is a dark, rich doppelbock with caramel and toasted malt, best in cooler weather or with roast pork and sausages. Serve all three cold, ideally in a mug or tall glass, and drink them fresh.
